Google AdWords editor upgrade fails

Gerald Thulbourn, WebSanity Internet Marketing, HuntingdonIf you use the very useful Google AdWords external editor tool (http://www.google.com/intl/en/adwordseditor/) (and you should to enable you to copy ads/campaigns etc. far more easily than in the online interface) then you might get a bit of a shock when you upgrade to the latest version (9.0.1)

Basically the upgrade doesn’t work – it stops the program working completely. Instead, un-install and then install from scratch.

We also saw an issue with the Firefox browser being broken by this upgrade – running Firefox just lead to the icon being shown, but no window. The solution: Hit Ctrl-Shift-Esc and run Task manager, then right click on Firefox in the task list and click on maximise in the pop up menu.

My Google Android powered phone upgraded itself last night, thankfully that division of Google seem to have put a bit more thought and testing into their software release!
